Very good points in this essay. We have largely put what we eat and is available for us to eat in the hands of large "corporate farms" and also charged them with feeding the world...a daunting task.
I think this current practice is not fostering sustainable (or even delicious) food. I also think people really want to be better connected to their food even if they don't realize it.
Higher volumes of small, local, regenerative farms are probably the best way we can feed ourselves in the future while still caring for the environment. We need ALOT more consumer interest to make that possible though.
Also...yes we can't be perfect consumers. Sometimes have to choose less-than-optimal foods or snacks out of convenience, availability, price, etc.
